The Process – What is a Treatment Plan?

The Process titleright

How does all of this work?

We begin with a 30-minute phone consultation so you can get a feel for how we work and we can understand more about your needs. This is an opportunity for you to ask anything you want and address concerns about what you are going through, the therapeutic process, financials, etc.

Ask about anything.
Having the opportunity to speak to a professional for support, free of charge, for up to a half hour is invaluable. It’s an opportunity to see if you feel we’re the right fit. You will immediately get the sense that we are compassionate and understanding. Our therapists aim to offer concrete skills and care in every session.

The Road Map
When you visit for the initial intake, we meet for 1.5 hours. We will get a history of your experience, assess your current place in life, and get a sense of who you are as a person. At the same time, we’ll learn more about your needs and work to build a conversation guided by scientifically based, first-line treatments, all while maintaining your integrity and tailoring the plan to your unique situation.

Therapy is problem solving.

We will discuss your goals and intentions for entering therapy. We will discuss this together and help you establish a framework of understanding so you feel comfortable on the first day.

Research shows talk therapy is the best path to resolution.

We act not only as a therapist, but as your advocate and go-to person for support and direction while you learn how to address and accomplish your goals. We will make sure you have all the necessary components to strengthen your life.

Collaborate to meet your needs.

We will collaborate with your primary care physician and associated providers to ensure stability along the way and appropriate therapeutic treatment based on your history and needs.

Additionally, we have a wide array of resources available, including educational opportunities, doctors who understand, and dietitians that won’t trigger behaviors, as well as books, articles, programming and other helpful resources. We will go to whatever length it takes to help you feel secure and supported as you work to achieve your goals.

Tailored to you!
You’ll learn to feel better and find relief with focused care, expertise and support from a holistic perspective. This includes evidence-based techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and other psychodynamic approaches.
