Maggie is a registered dietitian and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist who believes that all foods fit and have a purpose. She is passionate about supporting her clients in developing a healthy relationship with food and their bodies, relationships she sees as lifelong work rather than a fixed destination. Maggie learned from a young age the power of food as a source of connection, memories, and love as she grew up sharing her homemade desserts with family and friends. She practices from a non-diet, trauma-informed, Health at Every Size-aligned point of view, meaning her work centers each client’s whole health and history rather than weight or restriction.
Education and Clinical Background
Maggie completed her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from La Salle University in Philadelphia and her master’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Alabama. She has spent her career supporting individuals with eating disorders and disordered eating, with extensive experience working across inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient levels of care. This range means Maggie understands what nutritional support looks like at every stage of recovery, from the earliest and most acute phases of treatment through long-term maintenance.
Family-Based Treatment (FBT) Experience
Maggie spent several years supporting families through the Family-Based Treatment (FBT) approach, working alongside parents and caregivers as they help their child or teen navigate recovery at home. Her experience with FBT means she brings not just individual nutrition counseling but a family-systems understanding of how eating disorders show up around the table and in daily life.
Virtual Nutrition Therapy Sessions
Maggie meets with clients virtually and especially loves when clients join sessions from their home kitchens, since this setting allows clients to cook and eat together with her in real time. Rather than nutrition education happening only in the abstract, this hands-on format lets clients practice new skills in the exact environment where their eating happens day to day.
Podcast and Teaching
Maggie is also the co-host of the Nourish and Empower podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, alongside Hilltop therapist Jessica Coviello. Outside of meeting with clients, Maggie is an adjunct professor and enjoys sharing the science of nutrition with her students, bringing the same warmth and curiosity to the classroom that she brings to her clinical work.
Who Maggie Works With
Maggie works with individuals and families navigating anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and disordered eating patterns more broadly, providing the nutritional therapy component alongside Hilltop’s clinical treatment team.
