You noticed something is off. With food, with your body, with the way you think about both. You’ve been managing it for a while.

Hilltop’s Center for Men is a specialty program, not a checkbox. Based in Summit, NJ and serving men across New Jersey and via telehealth nationwide, we were built for men who couldn’t find a clinician who actually understood this population — or who simply weren’t ready until now.

You don’t have to explain yourself from scratch. We already know what this looks like.

Something is shifting. Times are more intense, relationships are more confusing, friends are in their own world, people are not connecting. Our practice specializes in helping you find equilibrium. We don’t want you to ever feel stuck where you are.

Facts About Mental Health

Why men go undiagnosed.

Most providers are trained to recognize restriction and low weight. Men are more likely to present with muscle dysmorphia, overexercise, and body composition obsession. Standard screening tools were designed around female presentations. The signs get missed.

Men represent one in three eating disorder cases nationally, but are diagnosed and treated at a fraction of that rate. Most go years without a name for what they are experiencing. Eating disorder treatment for men in NJ remains significantly underutilized despite the need.

Strength, control, self-sufficiency. The pressure on men to appear unaffected is real and it keeps them from naming the problem, let alone seeking treatment for it.

Brian Pollack, LCSW, CEDS-C and the Hilltop team has specialized in male eating disorders since founding Hilltop Behavioral Health in Summit, NJ. He is one of the few male certified eating disorder specialists in the country. Eating disorder treatment for men is not an add-on here, it is the clinical focus this practice was built around.

Discover change with authenticity.

Male Eating Disorders

Restriction, binge-purge cycles, muscle dysmorphia, overexercise, and obsessive food and body tracking are all eating disorders. They just don’t always look the way people expect them to — especially in men. Brian Pollack, LCSW, CEDS-C is one of the few male certified eating disorder specialists in the country. This is his clinical focus.

Anxiety

Restlessness, panic, difficulty concentrating and /or controlling feelings of worry, muscle tension, irritability, or sleep problems. Living in a high stakes environment can be exhausting.

Anxiety

High-functioning, high-achieving, and quietly overwhelmed. Anxiety in men often doesn’t look like panic, it looks like hypervigilance, irritability, and an inability to slow down. We treat the version you’ve actually been living.

Depression

Fatigue, detachment, loss of drive, and a flatness that’s hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t felt it. Depression in men frequently goes unnamed for years. It doesn’t have to.

The next step is a free consultation call — no paperwork, no commitment. Just a conversation with a clinician who specializes in eating disorder treatment for men in NJ and understands this population from the inside out.
